About This Route

following NCN7

probably at least 2/3 off-road and non-tarmac (Killin - Kings House Hotel, Strathyre - Callander, Loch Venachar - Aberfoyle)

Surface condition: off-road stretches partly well surfaced, partly very loose, two sets of hair-pin descents (tarmac above Lochearnhead, loose gravel above Loch Lubnaig (south of Strathyre);

If going N-S as we did, watch out for cars coming the opposite way along the off-road "forest drive" through Queen Elizabeth Forest (between Loch Venachar and the top of the track near the Duke's Pass)

Look out for "Go Ape", the UK's longest zipwire slide (and lots of smaller ones, and rope bridges among the trees etc) on the final descent to Aberfoyle - looks like great fun!

This cycling route is ideal for: MTB

You will cycle on the following surfaces: Paved Unpaved Gravel
